WECK Jars
For the love of jars
Our favourite jars on the farm are WECK Jars because they are all the things: versatile, 100% reusable, free of plastic and undercoatings—not to mention diverse, beautiful, and resilient.
Founded, designed and made in Germany, WECK Jars make “jars for everything” that last a lifetime (or many—I intend to bequeath them to my grandchildren). From canning, freezing, storing, gifting and admiring, the Weck Jar system consists of glass jars, glass lids, tabbed rubber gaskets (sealing rings) and metal clamps.
Check out more photos below, and descriptions of how I like to use the different jars.
For jar codes and dimensions, please refer to the catalogue. Search Weck online for even more inspiration!

How do you can with WECK?
Can as you would using mason jars in terms of boiling time, etc.
Add two clips to can in a hot water bath and three clips to can with a pressure canner.
To check for a seal, look to see that the rubber tab is pointing down and that you can lift the jar off the ground by the lid.
To break the seal, you pull on the rubber tab! You will hear it unseal!
The rubber gaskets need to be replaced for canning but can be reused for fermenting and storing, etc.
Here are some examples.
See the Catalogue for the full product line!
Not shown below, the Cylinder jars are some of my favourite for fermenting and freezing because of their straight necks.
